Motivational Monday - Expectations

 

 

 

I think all the greats started with some wild ideas or expecations, things they weren't sure were going to work but believed would work. Thinking and believing being two different things, one can't live without the other nor start anywhere but from the heart.

Motivational Monday - Grow your Wings

 

 

You can be who and whatever you want to be... I think we fail as a whole to realize that we are the narrators of our lives... that no matter what comes our wa,y it is the way we choose to handle it that matters.

May you soar to the hieghest of hieghts.

 

Motivational Monday - Bloom

 

I am a huge believer of today's Motivational Monday topic... there have been so many instances in my daily life where I could either suggest pure coincidence...

Or be smarter than that untrained thought,

and admit that the power of my thoughts is truly a powerful reality.

 

 

The older I get,  the more I learn about myself...  The more I have learned about myself,  the more I unfurl my petals in preparation for the full bloom.

 

Motivational Monday - Small Things

 

 

I think one of the hardest things in life is letting the little things slide. For me it's the tiniest things that ball over, like a grain of sand within an oyster creating a pearl. Except the pearls made from mulling on the little stuff really don't end up being pearls at all. It's like chewing on a tiny piece of steak for too long, sooner or later you have to spit it out. One of my dearests and often mentioned besties, Jacquie from Hand of Bela Peck, reminds you in this post she wrote last week... to BREATHE - to inhale AND exhale you can save all your well needed energy for the good stuff.

 

 

Keep the small things small... let the big things excite you and inspire you... and when the big things aren't so pretty or inspiring, remember to take in some fresh air and let out the poison. You write your story, no one else and your life is a beautiful adventure just waiting for you to recongnize it's divine presence.

Motivational Monday - Failure

 

 

Well the jury convened at The ARTery and they decided that as of right now my art will not be hanging in their gallery. I won't lie... I was bummed. Really bummed in fact. I think of myself as someone that handles rejection pretty well, but for some reason this really got to me. It surprised me that it got to me, and so that made me even sadder. Yesterday on the way to the store my son asked why my artwork was in the car. I told him why, and he said to me that he was sorry I lost, that he thinks everyones artwork should be able to hang in the gallery. It was so sweet, one of those very touching moments between parent and child... I looked at him and said...

 

 

And he understood... he said no more, just smiled. I wanted him to know that rejection is ok and completely normal... I explained to him that for every no there are a dozen yes's.

I hope he remembers and that you do too.

Motivational Monday - Wishing

 

 

 I don't think anyone should ever stop wishing. Wishing is a healthy admittance to ones self that their dreams have every right of coming true.

 

 

Wish away my friends, wishes become reality if one thinks they can be!

Motivational Monday - Good & Bad News

You might notice that Motivational Monday is a little different today. There is only one image instead of 4 and it's not a graphic print with credit given to a talented artist from Etsy. I made today's Motivational Monday and will be from here on out due to some disapointing news from the Etsy Safety Support Team. 

I thought I was doing a wonderful thing by not only motivating and inspiring you with themed quotes each Monday... but also promoting artists from the Etsy world. Networking is so important to us artists and I truly enjoyed giving other creatives some spotlight.

When I plan a Motivational Monday I locate the pieces that I think and think will fit the day via Etsy. From there I set it all up and then contact each artist letting them know of their feature. I always receive thanks and smiles, and just a general happy response. Unfortunately Etsy doesn't like that I contact the artists through their conversation system. They notified me that if I don't stop doing so, that I will lose my Etsy account. They said I was spamming people and should not ask anything of them... even though I never did. I wrote a letter to Etsy and they replied back with just about the same message they originally sent to me. So either it was an automated response, or they don't care.

I will not show anyones work without notifying them... in the blogging world we give credit where credit is due and never take ownership of something that isn't ours. It's karma and I wouldn't want someone to show or share my work without me knowing, so I won't be doing that to anyone else :)

So from here on out I will be featuring one motivational quote using one of my own photographs as to not cancel Motivational Monday. I won't stop motivating or encouraging you :) I don't need Etsy, and they can't rain on my parade!

Motivational Monday - Fear, Courage, and being Brave

 

 

I think one of the biggest things we deal with as humans, the one thing we work on conquering... is fear. Fear of this, fear of that, we fear so many things and don't even realize just how much because we live with it each and every day. I challenge you not to.

Motivational Monday - Beatles Quotes

 

 

There is no doubt in my mind that most of the world's best quotes came from the minds of 4 young lads the swept the earth many a generation ago. I LOVE the Beatles. When all the other teenagers of my youth were listening to Nirvana and the radio grunge era, I was bopping along learning every Beatles song by memory as if the albums had just come out.
